How to use TopoPlanner

The TopoPlanner extension can be activated by typing TOPOMAP at the AutoCAD command line. The first step is to specify the zone where you want to insert the raster data. The user can choose between:

  • Select : defines a rectangular area
  • Inside : user needs to select a closed polyline
  • Mosaic : user can specify one or more object(s), a buffer distance around these objects and the height/width of a single image. The routine will calculate the tiles that need to be created automatically.

Once the area of interest has been defined a wizard will pop up where the following steps need to be defined:

  • WMS server where the data needs to be fetched and scale of the data, currently there's support for
    • Google
    • Microsoft
    • Yahoo
    • OpenStreetMap
    • AGIV (only data for Flanders' area in Belgium)
  • Target Spatial Reference System
  • Image postprocessing options
  • Naming parameters for the raster image(s) and how the xref's should get linked (absolute or relative path)

How to define custom WMS services

The user has the ability to add his own wms services to the system. He can either use the TOPOMAP command and click the ADD button on the first page of the wizard or he can type the TOPOWS command.
