EXIF Imagery Technical Documentation
During the design process, engineers often go out in the field to take pictures of both the existing or as-built situation. This means that during project lifecycle many images get taken by different type of material (newer totalstations, smartphones, standard cameras). But what happens with these pictures once they're stored on the server in the network?
The Exif extension stores the imagery in a common datastore and makes these images available inside AutoCAD environment. If the images are georeferenced (for example using some geotagging postprocessing or using smartphone with built in camera and GPS), they can be positioned on the right spot and thus enrich your design environment.
Feature Highlights:
- Use EXIFADMIN to create and populate the EXIF (FDO compatible) datastore.
- Use EXIFCAMERA to create/edit the camera specific parameters, needed to correctly calculate the FOW
- All EXIF information is extracted and added as attributes to the images, available to AutoCAD users in standard properties palette
- Check-out the image features (represented as oriented point objects) from the datastore to your drawing and get access to all the properties and open the image directly
- Navigate around and open the image from inside AutoCAD (FVIEW command)
